As usual, it's difficult Big Ten men's basketball here in mid-January. I think Ohio State and Michigan State are clearly the two best teams, but there's still months to go before the NCAA tournament.
Is Michigan State due to lose anytime soon? Like Saturday at Northwestern or Tuesday at Michigan? Maybe, but the Spartans aren't offering any hints in their play that they are about to end their current 15-game winning streak.
The bandwagon of admirers is growing. Two out of three Sports Illustrated college basketball analysts now project them into the Final Four in New Orleans in the NCAA tournament.
I guess MSU will lose a game or two in the league but I don't see much of that unless key injuries steer this team off course. And the Big Ten doesn't have a consistent team to keep winning alongside them. It isn't Indiana since the Hoosiers lost at home Thursday to Minnesota, a team with an 0-4 record heading to Bloomington.
