I needed the MSU football bye week. Work every day from Labor Day through last Saturday. So it was off to Syracuse for three nights where our oldest is in graduate school. Nice place. Saw the Syracuse/Louisville football game inside the Carrier Dome. Spirited crowd of 30,000 in the 50,000 seat stadium, but they made plenty of noise because Syracuse had its game of the year, 45-26 over the unbeaten Cardinals.
They sell beer-- so a beer and a hot dog was great. Not many students go to the games so that wasn't a problem. The student bars were packed after the game and not many were watching the games on the televisions overhead-- but how could you not notice Alabama getting beat the way it was in the first half by Texas A&M?
Beautiful campus, basketball is their thing, but many seats are lousy in the Carrier Dome for hoops because they're just too far away. Great day for golf Sunday at the SU course, 72 degrees and many others enjoyed it all too. Now back to the grindstone for the remainder of the season. For the record the drive is 7:20 if you don't get stopped at the Canadian borders and we did not.
