Spring break is over. Road trips to Lafayette, Indiana, then to South Bend, back to Lansing. An overnight to get our act back together. We'd seen two boys and one to go. But he is at Syracuse University, a 7 1/2 hour trek through Canada. Lousy weather for the three nights we were there. Took the side trip to Cornell, 45 minutes away. Oldest goes there for a year beginning this summer after getting degree from Syracuse in May. That will be four degrees, is it an NCAA record?
Back to Lansing for one night. Then on to Chicago via bus with five couples for a friend's 50th birthday party. He's a Michigan guy so he sweat out the semi-finals Saturday night from his downtown hotel suite. We all partied with him-- somewhat. Spartans there too. Back home Sunday and back to radio again. Back to television on Tuesday and our friend flew with his son to Atlanta to take in the title game. I haven't heard from him since before he left Monday. I heard he had good seats but the game's outcome has to leave him downcast.
