There was no guarantee Jordyn Wiber would win the gold in the women's all around Thursday in London.  She won't get a chance to find out, but winning the gold as a member of the U. S. team is no small feat.  She is one of five and the Americans dominated and the U. S. women's gymnastics team had not won gold since 1996.  So she can celebrate.  Hopefully she is not injured.

     Her coach, John Geddert, let it be known after the team competition Tuesday that Wieber might have a stress fracture in her foot.  She has endured a bruised right heel for several weeks and Geddert fears that's the problem.  She felt fine he said, on Tuesday in her three apparatus routines, but whether that remains the case Thursday when she competes in the individual floor exercise remains to be seen.  Either way she comes home a gold medal champion for which she can feel great pride.
