All this talk about how rough football is-- and it is a tough sport at the highest levels right? We can all agree to that. But how about college and pro basketball? No pads and endless games over a long season. Little time to rest. Michigan State's team looks like a MASH unit. And the Spartans would have to play two more months to get to the Final Four in Atlanta. The Spartans are thin on healthy bodies now and will things get worse before they get better?
I always felt the contact in basketball with the two games per week schedule takes its toll. Football plays once a week and players of course are padded up with state of the art equipment. I wouldn't say basketball is more dangerous but I'd say it is underrated when it comes to potential injury especially at the college and NBA levels.
