Early high school football impressions, week three coming up:
Big game next Friday, Grand Ledge at Sexton. That's a toughie. Somehow I pick Sexton by an eyelasth-- subject to change later next week. Holt is 0-2 but we'll turn things around just like last year-- two tough early non conference assignments. Okemos is 2-0 but has to improve and likely will. But Okemos should beat Everett next Friday. East Lansing is forever dangerous in the CAAC blue division. Eastern, Everett and Jackson are all fighting for sixth place at this point.
DeWitt will not go unbeaten, but DeWitt is good. DeWitt will roll Ionia next Friday and then comes another tough test at Haslett. The Vikings are frustrated. But they'll have to play superbly to beat DeWitt or lose once again. Pewamo-Westphalia is good. Eaton Rapids finally ended its 17-game losing streak and might win two in a row if it can beat Waverly. Eastern and Waverly have to be mighty frustrated by slow starts. Eastern was awful against a revived Mason team who let it get away against Okemos, but look out, Mason should be tough the rest of the way.
