Don't even think about evaluating the Detroit Tigers for the coming season-- at this point it's pointless until we get to October. Here's why. The Tigers will once again easily win the Central Division. They won it by 15 games last season and that's about the same margin I expect this season-- if not more.
So come October the team will have made some in season moves and then we'll see who else is an obstacle to the World Series. Everything now won't matter-- the division is lousy and the Tigers are good, that simple.
Whether in October they have enough to make a playoff run or not remains to be seen. But let's guess at this point the Tigers and Philadelphia Phillies are on a collision course to the World Series this fall.
