Who knows what the fallout will be when it's all said and done with MSU's Downtown Coaches Club. There are probably many honorable people who supported the cause properly over the last 50 years but the bad apples who thought they'd spend money and not get caught are the ones who may well bring it down. Michigan State has disassociated itself with the club for the time being at least and now the 50/50 raffles have been banned from home football games this fall.
Michigan State is super compliant these days-- and it doesn't want some rogue people from a booster club causing all kinds of problems. And this is likely an issue for schools across the country. People who handle cash-- well can they all be fully trusted? And you wonder how much of this has gone on with funds mishandled in years past?
