Diamond Classic Has Three Contenders

I'll go this far-- Grand Ledge, Lansing Catholic or DeWitt will win the 52nd Diamond Classic.  The other seven schools I just don't think have enough to make it through to win it all.  Grand Ledge is the number one seed and Lansing Catholic is number two and I'm already on record as having Catholic win its second Classic title, 7-5 over the Comets.  Catholic is 22-2 and has one previous Classic title, bacin in 1986.

Okemos will beat Haslett and it's East Lansing over Charlotte on opening night next Monday.  Then on Wednesday it's  DeWitt over Portland and Holt over Bath.  A week from Friday Catholic and Grand Ledge come into play with games at Cooley Law School Stadium.

Catholic has had plenty of close games but the Cougars have eight key seniors and made it to the state title game a year ago.  I like Catholic to figure it out this year with all those seniors.  We'll see.
