Michigan State football coach Mark Dantonio seems miffed about four of his players and their Saturday night tweets during the Michigan vs. Alabama game. Well he should. Michigan needs no extra incentive to get the Spartans October 20th in Ann Arbor. But stern as Dantonio described the issue on Tuesday he also used some calm in stating that he would not prohibit his players from using the social media that has grown so much over recent years.
Curbing social media is like prohibition-- impossible to police and not worth the effort. Moderation is the key and good judtment and obviously Dantonio will encourage dramatically his players use common sense from here on out. And that should be enough for those of college age-- you don't need rules you need to use common sense. I trust the four involved got the message rather bluntly and clearly.
Michigan didn't overdo the reaction either saying all the right things when the Wolverines were asked about the issue-- but they won't forget either and you can be the list of reasons Michigan wants to beat the Spartans in October simply continues to grow.
