I remember a year ago when everyone was looking at Michigan State's 2011 football schedule, thinking how much tougher it would be this season after winning 11 games in 2010. And on paper it did look tougher, especially October. But since then Jim Tressel and Terrelle Pryor left Ohio State, so did Rich Rodriguez at Michigan and the Spartans beat those two and then figured out a way to get Wisconsin, again, in Spartan Stadium. That leaves Nebraska this Saturday at Lincoln to run a four game sweep amongst the Big Ten's best.
Can it be done? Sure-- MSU is only a four point underdog and these Cornhuskers don't look like Tom Osborne's guys from the glory days. But Nebraska only lost at Wisconsin and has won everything else and the Cornhuskers are tough to beat in Lincoln-- ask Ohio State who blew a three touchdown lead in the second half.
The Spartans have prospered at home-- 12 straight wins and two more to come against Minnesota and Indiana. But on the road, they'll have to hope they can conjure up more offense than they did at Ohio State is they are to keep their winning ways going.
