What a wonderful two nights for me. Wednesday I was in DeWitt to host the CAAC senior scholar athlete award ceremonies. 260 athletes from the 26 CAAC schools on hand, dressed up and receiving award plaques. MSU quarterback Kirk Cousins was very impressive as the guest speaker. It's an upbeat evening with achieving seniors. Then back to work for the 11pm news.
Thursday I'm at the Duffy Daugherty luncheon with the winners of awards to be presented later in the evening. Lloyd Carr looks rested and good, and he was happy to be in East Lansing among friends along with Rockford's Ralph Munger, the high school coach to be honored. MSU's Mark Dantonio attended the lunch, along with both of his coordinators. Mark Hollis was there as well, and thankful that MSU is not going through any of the problems that Ohio State currently has to deal with. Special events I enjoy. These two on back to back nights have been something I've been looking forward to enjoying.
