Jordyn Wieber is still in London but she flies to New York on Monday. Her mother will meet her-- she flies from mid Michigan back East. Endorsement appearances are the order of the day for a couple of days along with appearances with the other U. S. Olympic gymnastics team members.
Both will be back in Lansing Thursday and will fly into the Lansing airport. But the arrival time is not set yet. Jordyn has agreed to be Grand Marshall of the DeWitt Ox Roast on Saturday, August 18th. She'll be home for two weeks then hits the road for several months on a 40-city U. S. tour. She will be taking classes by computer and may attend DeWitt High School classes in the second semester.
She has no idea about her next competition-- whether it's the Worlds in 2013 or the Olympics in 2016. She will have her injured shin which is stress fractured, examined the day after she returns to DeWitt. Doctors hope she can get back in action within a month. And she doesn't know at this point whether she will begin classes at UCLA next fall or later. Stay tuned.
