Okay so I am editing some video tape Wednesday afternoon for the night's sportscasts. Some weird video-- we go to the Lions' training camp in Allen Park where Titus Young is practicing on his own. He's with the Lions for the first time since being suspended last week for his behavior. This guy is nuts if he doesn't shape up because he is in line to lose money he'll never earn anywhere else. Coach Jim Schwartz says he liked the attitude Wednesday but isn't sure yet whether Young will play in Sunday's home game against the Indianapolis Colts. And Young better be on his mint behavior, whatever that is, because the Lions have to be leery of keeping him around past this season.
Then there's the Troy ice rink where the Detroit Red Wings have worked out this entire fall on their own. And they were skating amongst themselves, those still in the area and not playing overseas. They wait and hope for a deal which may not come this season. They all get interviewed and they all rip the NHL management as not negotiating fairly-- common rhetoric for labor disputes in sports. It's weird. And then the Pistons will play Wednesday night at home against Phoenix and all I'm interested in is to see how many seats there are at the Palace and wondering how much money second year owner Tom Gores is losing with this albatross.
