I figure the Big Ten must be about to annonce further expansion plans. The conference cannot redo its divisional alignments untikl it knows all the players in the field. At the moment we have 14 with Rutgers and Maryland about to join the fold. North Carolina is getting buzz on Wednesday about perhaps being the next in and Georgia Tech has had plenty of buzz the past few months as well. And we're told geography could play a role in any reconfiguration. Would Michigan State be in the East or West? The Spartans would be on the line. I'm guessing MSU goes West and Michigan goes East and they'll still play each other each season as the crossover game. And Michigan and Ohio State would be in the same division so as not to play twice-- like they could this coming fall in Ann Arbor and the following week in the Big Ten championship game in Indianapolis. More to come. Stay tuned.
