Big Ten Hockey coaches assembled in St. Paul, Minnesota Thursday for the league's first annual media day. Players from each of the six schools were on hand and the league really wants to hype the inaugural season. It should be fun, 20 games for each, two home and two away against the other five schools and league games don't begin until late November.
Wisconsin is picked to win it over Minnesota, with Michigan third. Michigan State and Ohio State are picked to share fourth and that would be an improvement for MSU since the Spartans finished last in the CCHA last season. Michigan is very young with ten freshmen and maybe the Wolverines will have the same pains MSU had last season.
It should be a big boost for college hockey especially around these parts and fans should enjoy much better home scheduling than in recent years in the old CCHA, at least that's my take.
