Big Ten/ACC Challenge At Least Offers Good Games

If nothing else the Big Ten/ACC Challenge offers some decent non conference basketball match ups in an age when Tom Izzo actually called everything else "exhibition games" at his news conference earlier this week.   I claim college basketball is worse for the wear with so many games of no relevance to the general public.  Everyone is 12-1 heading into January so what's the point?

North Carolina State at Michigan followed by North Carolina at Indiana offers some decent hoops to watch on Tuesday and MSU at Miami on Wednesday is something worthwhile as well.  The public offers up empty seats to many of the non conference games and playing so many in November makes little sense to me as well.  It's football season for crying out loud!

Hockey is worse.  Early October games and then a bye week end around Thanksgiving.  And they all wonder why there are so many empty seats these days.
