The video has arrived of MSU's men's basketball team in Germany-- the Spartans looked tired upon arrival at Ramstein Air Force Base but they perked up when they met with wounded soldiers being treated from Afghanistan. MSU practiced at 10pm German time, 4pm Wednesday back in Michigan. They flew non stop overnight from Detroit and bussed the final 70 miles to the air base.
It's a great trip and good on the education, right? But it's tough. Back on a plane heading home just hours after the game with U Conn ends and home for a night before heading to Atlanta on Monday. Tuesday MSU faces 7th ranked Kansas. It will be a heckuva feat to win both games against such good teams, but I'd be surprised if MSU didn't beat U Conn. Kevin Ollie is the new coach on a one year deal after succeeding Jim Calhoun who has retired but is on the trip to do the radio color commentary. U Conn has two very good guards but lost plenty on the front line including Andre Drummond in the draft to the Pistons.
