When's the last time the NFL put together two worse teams for one game? A pair of 1-8's at Ford Field, 1pm Sunday, mercifully blacked out through most of the State. The Detroit Lions hosting the Cleveland Browns. The Lions are 3 1/2 point favorites and the joke's on them because no one can have more humiliating stats than the Brownies-- and that's what they play like--Brownies. Cleveland has not scored a touchdown in three games and in Monday's 16-0 loss at home to Baltimore, the Browns never crossed the Ravens' 45-yard line. Cleveland is 32nd (last) in the NFL in offense and Detroit is 32nd in the NFL defense-- a beautiful thing. Better still-- Cleveland has not receiver nor running back who has scored a touchdown in more than a year. Seriously. How can a team, with equal resources as everyone else, be so inept? And we're not talking about the Lions either. Cleveland's lone win was 6-3 over Buffalo and the Bills have since fired head coach Dick Jauron. Eric Mangini is the coach at Cleveland and I suggest he find some players or he won't be much longer. Maybe Charlie Weis can join the staff to perk up the offense next year, who knows. If the Lions don't win this game-- and they've lost 30 of their last 32-- who knows when they win again and they can't sink any lower-- although through the course of the years indeed they have managed to sink lower, some how some way. |

high school all-star can beat the lions, thats awful they are. Fords need to sell the team Posted by: Airlos What I see in the Lions is a team with the talent and skills to be a competitive team, yet somehow they are outplayed by every team in the NFL. Every play that they execute has to be as evaluated as a chess move. The offense has to know where every player of the opposing team's defense is located. There has got to be more defense of the quarterback so that he does not have to make passes under pressure. Detroit has the potential to win. They got players who are as good as any players in the NFL. Have faith in Detroit. They have the ability to win, like any team. |
