The Detroit Pistons have three more players on their roster-- those chosen in the NBA draft on Thursday.  With the 15th pick in a weak draft to begin with the prospects of landing solid help were limited.  Who knows hos Austin Daye will fare-- he's 6-11 and that's fine, but it's almost his height alone that got him chosen, especially that high.  He weighs 192 pounds and I doubt he'll be pusing Lebron James around anytime soon in the low post.  Daye played in college at Gonzaga and he blocked 70 shots last season but he won't have nearly as easy a time as he did against some of the Zags' lesser opponents last season.

The two second round picks may not even make the team and they may well end up in Europe or in the NBDL.  What does it say about American college basketball when the Pistons go to Sweden to find Jonas Jerebko?  The Pistons were 39-43 and once the free agency period starts in a few days they better have their game faces on.  Already, Cleveland has added Shaq and Vince Carter is now in Orlando and you can throw in at least Atlanta and Boston if not New Orleans as better teams in the region.  The Pistons have plenty of work to do to excite fans about any kind of playoff contender and you wonder if the Joe Dumars generation of contending Pistons' teams is now over.
