The East Lansing High School girls basketball team will have to go down as one of the best unit's never to win a state title.  The Tojrans, top ranked through much of the season in the Associated Press class A poll, were 25-0 before losing 61-59 in the quarter-finals Tuesday night to rugged Benton Harbor.  East Lansing's senior only lost two games last year, one in the state title game to Grosse Pointe North. So that's three losses in two years and no state title.  Ironically Grosse Pointe North was knocked out Tuesday as well.

East Lansing should be good again next season but seniors like Sami Tucker will be missed.  Klarissa Bell is back to lead the way and Michigan State still hopes to land her.  The player who got away from this state is Destiny Williams of Benton Harbor.  She's headed to Illinois and she'll hurt, in my opinion, both Michigan and Michigan State in the seasons to come.  She's that good.  She was runner-up for Miss Basketball and probably should have been the winner.

DeWitt is in Friday night's semi-finals but DeWitt faces an arduous task against Detroit Country Day, whose only loss was by a point to East Lansing.  That leaves Olivet and Napoleon, the latter unbeaten.  Both have tough games at this point, but both could wini two more games and capture the class C title as well.  The class C title  game is at 4pm Saturday on Fox Sports Detroit.
