ALTERCATION AT MSU LATE SATURDAY?

Michigan State officials are confirming for us that they are cooperating with East Lansing police about an off campus altercation late Saturday night/early Sunday morning.  MSU football and hockey players were involved with an MSU hockey player reportedly hospitalized over the incident.  MSU officials say it is an open investigation-- more word to come.  Stay tuned.

A coup for Michigan State hockey coach Rick Comley.  He has a verbal commitment from a 15-year old at Grand Ledge High School-- a ninth grader no less!  Reid Boucher has been heavily recruited.  His last name is pronounced boo-shay.  He will not play high school hockey-- he's above that.  He currently plays for the Lansing Capitals of the Midget Major League in the area.  He eventually will play junior hockey-- just think he has 3 1/2 more years of high school before he becomes at student at MSU but he has can't miss written all over him.

I'm thinking Kirk Cousins may get more playing time in these next four MSU games.  Not that he's close to becoming a starter-- Mark Dantonio doesn't want to upset his team's applecart and doesn't think it is necessary.  But Cousins looked good against Ohio State-- 18 of 25 and a touchdown in his second half mop up role.  He may be the future in the program and clearly he'll battle Keith Nichol in next spring's practice for the starter's job to replace Brian Hoyer.  If the Spartans struggle in these next four games on offense I wouldn't be a bit surprised to see Cousins get a call from the bullpen.  He has little experience but the MSU coaches like what they have seen thus far.
