How can these pro teams keep paying these salaries?  How can they keep selling tickets a the prices they charge?  Isn't the sports world affected by the economy like the rest of us?  How can William Clay Ford fire a guy making $5 million a year and replace him? 

     What about area country clubs?  The golf season is about over.  Will members stay or bail out to save on paying monthly dues with snow on the ground?  What about transportation for any teams, let alone high school teams?  How can Detroit public schools field teams when the district is millions of dollars in debt?

     How can all of these bowl games salvage sponsors and stay in business?  Will people keep buying high priced tickets to college games when they are paying seat licenses at the same time?

    I will be interested to watch in house attendances at all of these events in the forseeable future.  The incredible salaries pro athletes make today-- will that money still be there when the next seasons roll around?  How are payments made on new stadiums and debts retired?

     Big money is needed for big time sports-- and given the state of the nation's financial woes today what will be noticed first that crashes in the sports world because of the current monetary conditions?
