Northwestern only has 47,000 seats in its football stadium, but plenty are available, according to the school, for Saturday's game against Michigan State. The prices are $50 sideline and $35 end zone. Michigan State has not sold all of its allotment. The weather is expected to be sunny and 77 degrees. Michigan State will bus to the game on Friday and return immediately afterward. Kick off is set for 3:45pm.
MSU also reports tickets remain for sale for all three remaining home games-- Ohio State on October 18th, Wisconsin on November 1st and Purdue on November 8th. The Spartans have sold their allotment for the Michigan game in Ann Arbor on October 25th.
Hard to believe the Lions are 13 1/2 point underdogs for Sunday's game at Minnesota. Granted I'd think they would be listed as an underdog but two touchdowns in the NFL is rare and after all, the Vikings are a mere 2-3. The Lions are 0-4. Kick off is at 1pm.
Also hard to believe--Juwan Howard has made $140 million in his NBA career. If he makes the Denver Nuggets roster this season his pay will be a pittance from yesteryear-- $1.25 million. Howard, Chris Webber and Jalen Rose, the front line of the Fab Five from Michigan's 1991-92 seasons, have combined to make more than $400 million their NBA careers. Ironically, the two starting guards, Ray Jackson and Jimmy King, never made much in the few NBA games they played. Those two were relegated to minor league careers.
Grand Ledge High School's football team has enjoyed quite a comeback season-- 6-0 and ranked fourth in division one in the state, although I don't think the Comets are as good as that ranking. They have three home games remaining-- Eastern, Holt and Charlotte. They'll be favored in all three, but all three teams are dangerous. I don't see Grand Ledge going deep into the tournament, but nonetheless it's been a remarkable turnaround from the pair of 3-6 seasons each of the last two years.
