The Lansing Lugnuts are ready to begin their 16th season, hard as that is to believe. And what an addition to the community the Lugnuts have become. Downtown Lansing has been enriched and the ballpark still looks brand new.
The Lugnuts team arrives Sunday night and for some of these teenagers from warm climates, it will be quite a culture shock. The first game is the popular Crosstown Showdown battle with Michigan State on April 5th and two nights later is the regular season opener against the West Michigan Whitecaps.
The Lugnuts have their usual Thirsty Thursday back and Dollar Tuesday should be popular as well with many food and drink items available for just a buck. Mike Redmond is the team's new manager and the Toronto Blue Jays are still the parent club.
The Lugnuts are still popular and the fireworks are still great. It's an organization with solid marketing skills and the lower priced family atmosphere is still a great draw especially during the warm summer days and nights.
