Talk about a harsh parting of the ways.  Rich Rodriguez drew further wrath from West Virginia people today with newspaper reports that he shredded documents about current players on December 18th while cleaning out his office.  Fellow staffers were unsure about what Rodriguez allegedly was doing at the time.  But school officials say player records, for whatever reason, were destroyed by the former coach.  Rodriguez already has issues with the school over the $4 million buyout in his contract which will be determined in litigation.

I thought Sunday's MSU vs. Notre Dame hockey game in South Bend was extremely well played.  Terrific athletes on both sides.  Jeff Lerg is marvelous considering his lack of physical size compared with other division one players he faces.  I think Michigan State might have a better chance of repeating as NCAA champion than winning Comley's first CCHA title in East Lansing.  The Spartans are fourth in league play but they're good enough defensively to get on a roll, as they did last March and win four tournament games and the national title.  If Michigan State could simply step up its offense a bit it would be extremely difficult to deal with and the Spartans are pretty tough as it is.  Notre Dame is also very good, but the Irish might be just a step behind the Spartans in terms of chances to win the league and national titles.  State's Daniel Vukovic is an impressive defensive player-- he's huge, agile and a smart player and no one messes with him.  Vukovic gets plenty of ice time and it's easy to understand why.  He helps Lerg out a great deal and so do the other defensemen.  Lerg is very good, but he gets plenty of defensive help too from his teammates.

The Detroit Tigers' caravan to the Breslin Center this past Sunday was a joke.  Too bad for the 2,000 fans duped into thinking they'd see mainstream Tigers' players.  Carlos Guillen was the only player of note.  The Tigers didn't create any goodwill with the visit-- they need to realize that fans aren't fooled into turning out on a cold winter day to see base coaches and broadcasters and then they can't get autographs as it is.  Bad scene and shame on the Tigers for their decision.

Still in the rumormongering stage, but I'm going to predict this gets done over the weekend: Rich Rodriguez to Michigan. Yes, the same Rodriguez who recently signed a contract with his alma mater until 2013 which came with a $4 million dollar buyout. ----------- Jenilia West Virginia Treatment Centers
