Thoughts about the final four weeks of the Big Ten's regular football season:
Penn State is an awful 8-1 team-- no offense. Penn State is off this week and may not win another game-- Nebraska home, then at Ohio State and Wisconsin. Make it an 8-4 season and a bowl loss and they'll be scremaing for Joe Pa to retire.
Michigan could win out and finish 11-1.... and not be in the Big Ten title game. Michigan might then be a BCS at large entry even without any conference title game tie in. That would be amazing. Michigan conceivably could win at Iowa and Illinois then finish strong at home against Nebraska and Ohio State-- or lose all four.
Nebraska might win all four, but it won't be easy with back to back road games at Penn State and Michigan after an expected win at home this week over Northwestern.
Look out for Ohio State. The Buckeyes are better with their suspended players back. Either the Buckeyes or Wisconsin will be tough for the Legends division winner in the Big Ten title game-- assuming Penn State is eliminated, as I expect.
Michigan State is no lock at Iowa and Northwestern even if the Spartans are favored. If Iowa beats Michigan I bet the Hawkeyes beat Michigan State. Stay tuned.
