Online School More Popular Than Ever

Students don't necessarily have to sit in a classroom to take a class.

The number of school districts and charter schools that permit students to take all or most of their classes online has skyrocketed -- from 12 to 192 since 2009, according to the Lansing State Journal.

At Williamston High School, students may take up to two courses online, provided it is not a subject already offered in the building.

Tonight at five, News 10's Lorne Fultonberg examines online classes and why more children may be turning to them.
