Top Michigan Democrats working to get Michigan's delegates seated at the Democratic National Convention have suggested splitting the delegates 69-59 between Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama.

Clinton says she should get 73 delegates based on the results of the Jan. 15 Democratic primary, 18 more than Obama.

Obama, who took his name off Michigan's ballot, wants the 128 pledged delegates split evenly.

The suggested compromise would be halfway between the two proposals. Clinton would get four fewer delegates, while Obama would get four more.

The foursome made its proposal Tuesday in a letter to Michigan Democratic Chairman Mark Brewer.

The Democratic National Committee stripped Michigan of its delegates after it moved up its primary.

Hillary Clinton should receive the 73 delegates that she won. Understanding how the political 'game' is played, she wisely kept her name on the ballot. Foolishly, B. Hussein Obama removed his name. Hillary won 73 -- the remaining were divided between Obama, Edwards, Kook-cinich (or "other" as they were collectively known on the ballot). If the "others" received more votes than Hillary, then there would be an issue; but Hillary soundly won Michigan and she should be rewarded for it. What does it say about Obama that he wants to be rewarded with something he didn't earn?

Why wouldn't it be split evenly? It wasn't a fair ballot since Michigan screwed up, so split them down the middle, or don't count them at all.
